Basic Commands / Lead Training

Tara is an amazing girlw hich needs lead work and recall, she is good with the ball and does love her treats, she knows some basic commands, so plenty of positive reward training will be an excellent tool for her.

Notes on how the dog reacts to dogs:  Would suit a dog free home - Tara does react to other dogs but would come on leaps and bounds having no other competition with dogs in the household.
Notes on how the dog reacts to cats:  Far too interested in the resident cat so we are suggesting a cat free home only.
How the dog reacts to people in general and strangers:  A loving girl which will thrive in a home of her own, she does have food aggression issues so this will need to be worked on with confidence and slowly so she understands she is not going to be tormented with food, and having it taken away from her. Tara will need a quite and patient home which is going to be able to work on building up her confidence in trusting people.
How the dog reacts to children / limitations with children:

Our rehoming policy when a dog has been found as a stray is rehoming with children 12-15yrs onwards or preferably with no children.

Grooming experience:  Was sedated due to the RSPCA case which is on going, as she was submerged in cold cooking oil - so was sedated in the beginning to get the oils out of her coat, she now is still being bathed but not sedated. She is alittle grumpy when being groomed so maybe dry shampoo when her coat is back to normal will be suitable. and introducing brushes to her in a slow and patient manner.

Current Location of Dog:

*PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO MEET THE DOG AT THE LOCATION:

Now in our kennels in South Yorkshire
Medical History/Current medical issues:

Flea'd Due

Wormer Due

Transporting/Riding in a car:  Very quiet in the boot of the car when being transported from Manchester to South Yorkshire. no issues, no guarding no pacing, lovely and quiet, also settld down quickly
Assessors Notes:

Tara was brought in due to an RSPCA case which is on-going, she was submerged in cooking oil right under with her head too, so her coat was saturated in oil, and its taken weeks to start to get this out of her lovely coat, she is still receiving baths now but not so many, but this is taking its toll on her coat which will need conditioning medication to get it back too how it should be.

She is a lovely girl with people but she does have food aggression issues which will need to be worked on when in a new home, we will be starting her trainin with it shortly.

May 2016 - Tara was taken from Manchester Dogs home to our kennels in South Yorkshire, we are continually assessing her now, but so far she is a lovely girl who is alittle shell shocked with people, so needs people who are going to work on gaining her trust, and in a quiet household. she is an adorable girl but will need some patience.
